Catskills Unique Locations


The following locations exist either solely on the Catskilsl Shard or on a random few other shards. In most cases, the locations were created during Seer and EM events. Some were the remnants of old Player RP towns. A special thank you to David Banner [2LC] and MeSs for kindly showing me some of these locations and to Watts, Galahad and Sahra Swift, who submitted some of the other location during the contest.

Oddities:

a) Martel Nevarres grave (119o 0'N 45o 21'E Fel) was part of a quest led by Seer Imladris
b) There is a small player owned house inside the Serpent's Hold stable pen
c) Britain Felucca Counselor's Guild is beautifully decorated.
d) A blue gate outside Blackthorne's Castle (Fel) takes you to British Castle (Tram).
e) An odd version of the pagan reagents are displayed in a northern room of British Castle.
f) The tailor shop next to British Castle only has one door.
g) There is an anvil on Nujelm Beach (Felucca) - 51o 3'N 164o 57'E
h) There is a red rock in the rest area next to Nujelm Bank (Felucca).
i) A player owned house almost entirely placed on water on Magincia beach (Felucca)

1. The Jhelom Pen

Town: Jhelom, Northern Island (Felucca)
Coordinates: 175o 4'S 9o 25'W
Description:
The eastern animal pen has been set up for what seems to be an archery tournament. Based on the plaques in front of the building south of the pen, this would be Tykryon's Tournament Fighting location.


2. Ventryn's Lab

Town: Trinsic (Felucca) - Destard Mountain Range, west of the Hidden Valley
Coordinates: 110o 33'S 7o 10'E
Description:

You must stand on the white pentagram and speak the word "frostflame" to be able to enter the secret lab.

The lab was originally owned by the mage Ventryn. His apprentice Artarion, a lord of spiders, eventually took over the lab, changing the entrance password to "frostflame", and through some twisted magic created the ice and lava formations that now exist in the lab. Artarion used the lab to summon beings of fire and ice and sent them to invade various player run towns through the power of the conversion crystals scattered around Trammel.


3. The Celtic Garden

Town: Yew (Felucca)
Coordinates: 28o 33'N 62o 43'W
Description: The nearby farms and the garden were decorated by GMs for a formerly decent sized group of roleplayers who played Celtic characters.


4. The Mage Tower

Town: Moonglow (Felucca)
Coordinates: 45o 26'N 153o 5'W
Description:
Every shard possessed a Mage Tower at one point or another even though some shards have lost theirs over the years. This one, like a few others, floats entirely over water. On the 3rd floor, a very extensive library covers the entire history of the shard, the main guilds, training guides, poetry, tales and legends, etc.


5. The Camp

Town: Wrong Dungeon (Felucca)
Coordinates: 122o 31'N 49o 13'E
Description:
The purpose of the camp is unknown but it is set out right outside Dungeon Wrong. Could have been related to an orcish event.


6. The Undead Keep

Town: Yew (Felucca)
Coordinates: 25o 39'N 48o 14'W
Description:
The Undead Keep of the City of Necropolis is a blessed establishment. Sadly, I couldn't provide pictures from the inside since while the building is public, the front doors for some reason will no open. There is a tower with a sparkling teleporter outside. The locals told me that we should be able to access it from within the Keep. As can be seen by running outside the building, many customizations have been done to the keep, including doors that are normally not found, the bloody pentagram and other rares. The Evil Eye Tavern, also blessed, located just east of the Keep, is well worth visiting.


7. Wedding Hall

Town: Serpent's Hold (Felucca)
Coordinates: 151o 47'S 114o 23'E
Description:
The Counselor's Guild of Serpent's Hold (Felucca) has been turned into a wedding hall. A few other shards also use this location as a wedding hall, others as a meeting room. The decoration is always unique on each shard. The roof has been setup so that the reception can be held there or any other social events.


8. Nujelm City

Town: Nujelm (Felucca)
Coordinates: 38o 3'N 172o 3'E
Description:
Like more shard, the Nujelm Palace main hall has been setup for weddings, and the dining area for the wedding banquet. Each shard has its own unique decor. Further East from the Palace, the Counselors Guild has also been decorated but has been set up as a library rather than a meeting hall as on most other shards. Strangely the Trammel version of Nujelm Palace is prettier than the Fel version. Which is rare as it is usually the opposite.


9. Ore Gathering Location

Town: Wrong Dungeon (Trammel)
Coordinates: 120o 56'N 49o 0'E
Description:
Located right outside the entrance of Dungeon Wrong, these are the remnants of the Solunite ore gathering location, which was part of an EM event that ran for many weeks on the shard.
