The Rules
- You
must qualify as a questor by being one of the
first 20 people to have completed the
Qualification Race.
- You
must be available for the 3 days over which
the quest will take place.
- You
must not switch characters during the entire
duration of the event.
- You
may not tamper with the clues as they will
also be needed for the other questors.
- You
must have access to the following facets:
Trammel, Ilshenar and Felucca.
- You
must respect the TOS at all times as well as
act in accordance with the rulesets of each
facet.
- You
must perform the quest with your team and
wear the robe of your team throughout the
entire event.
- You
are allowed to ask for external assistance
from other players at any point in time,
whether crafters, merchants, hunters or
PvPers.
- You
are free to hire anyone at any point in time
to help you advance in the quest. You are
also free to buy from other players any item
that you may be required to provide in the
course of the quest rather than obtain it by
your own means. In all cases, any spending
you may incur will have to be at your own
expense.
- If
you are unable to stay until the end of the
quest, should your team be the first to
complete the tasks at hand, the reward will
be equally divided among those present at the
completion of the quest. If you leave early,
you automatically forfeit your share.
- All
clues will be provided in game. Any tasks you
may be asked to perform, any riddle or puzzle
will have its solution within game or be related
to a known notion of the game.
To qualify as a questors, you must first and foremost be
one of the 20 first people to have completed the
Qualification Race held one week before the actual quest.
There are no registration fee (or otherwise) for neither
the scavenger hunt nor the quest.
The questors will be divided in teams of 5. Each team
will be given a robe of a very specific color that must
be worn throughout the quest so you can easily be
identified (sorry for those who wear vet robes, but I'm
sure you will survive a 3 phys resist loss). The
character you choose to play the quest with will have to
remain the same throughout the entire event. You may not
switch chars at any time during the quest. Any one person
caught switching chars will be automatically
disqualified. There are no specific skill requirements to
participate in the quest, but the character you use
should be able to PvM and PvP. Once you have qualified as
a questor and been assigned to a team, it is strongly
suggested that you discuss with your other 5 teammates
which template they will use so your team may try to
encompass as many skills as possible that could come in
handy during the event. The character you use for the
quest may be different from the one you used for the
scavenger hunt.
While you may not switch chars and must perform the quest
as a team, you are free on call friends for assistance or
any other person whose path you may cross during the
course of the quest. Should you be asked to perform
certain tasks for which none of your teammates have the
required skill, you may "hire" a third party to
help you with this task. This includes any tradesman,
hunter or PvPer to protect you during your travels in
Felucca. Please note that the term "hire" is
used freely in this context as these helpers may offer
their services freely. Should they require payment for
their assistance, it will be for the team to cover those
fees with your own money.
You are free to use any means necessary to accomplish the
task at hand, as long as you respect the rules of the TOS
provided by OSI as well as the ruleset applying to each
facet. For example, if you wish to slow down a rival
team, you may lure monsters onto them in Felucca, but
performing a similar action in Trammel or Ilshenar is a
bannable offense. So please act accordingly. If you are
requested to provide a certain item, you can either
acquire it on your own or buy it from someone else.
As the quest will take place in 3 facets (Trammel,
Ilshenar and Felucca), all questors must have the LBR or
AoS client. Because of the locations of some of the
tasks, the character you will use must be blue.
The quest will take place over a 3-day period: Friday
evening, Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon. So you
must be available for all 3 days in order not to cripple
your team. At the end of each day, the last character of the quest you will meet will inform you
the night draws near and you should raise you camp for
the night. This means even if you have received the clue
as to the next task you should perform, there is no point
going there until the next day because you will not find
the character you must speak to nor the items you are to
retrieve there, if any. The time for the quest to resume
on the next day will be specified to you prior the
beginning of the quest itself.
