DIALOGUES
The Witch
Character profile:
The witch is a very old woman. Her ages isn't quite
known. Some say 65, because she looks like she would be
in her 60s, but rumor has it, she's lived well over a
century already. Yet her mind is still sharp as a blade,
and though her body has slightly slowed down, she is
still extremely active, up and about. As the proud
descendant of a family with a long tradition of
witchcraft, she excels in herbal medicines, potion
brewing, curses and hex removal as well as a slight gift
in divination. She has a great passion for plants,
animals but also alchemy. Her love of nature kept her
from specializing in alchemy. She is somewhat of a
hermit. She doesn't care much for the company of her
fellow humans, though her door will always be opened to
anyone who seeks her. Her favorite saying is that man
and animal are alike in many ways: fierce with their
ennemies and utterly loyal to their friends. But unlike
man, an animal that wishes you harm will not deceive you
into letting your guards down. It will just go for the
throat. With animals, you always know where you stand.
Man is full of deception.
Dialogue
Well, Marcus is an extraordinarily intelligent man, with
tremendous knowledge for his young age. His whole
life had been devoted to the study of the winged
creatures. He was fascinated by them. He
spent so much time with those creatures he eventually
came to be known as Anvoldelem, The Wingless One.
He even speaks and reads their language: Gargish. He
often spoke of how he admired the grace of the angels,
the strength of the daemons and the fierceness of the
succubi. The daemons and succubi were extremely difficult
to approach though, so he spent most of his time in the
realm of Lord Oaks or with his friends in Gargoyle City.
And for a while, Clio and I assisted him in his research.
As you know, a number of weeks ago, Marcus went to the
valley near Lakeshire to study the fairies that lived in
the tree houses so he would be close to Clio during her
illness. If you have read the letter I sent the Lady, you
know what horrible fate has befallen Clio and Marcus.
Clio in now trapped into an enchanted sleep, never to
wake up again. Marcus went abroad looking for a cure, but
rumor now has it that he has been abducted and is held
prisoner somewhere overseas. There is an alchemist who
can help the poor girl. I know how to prepare the cure,
but i need the binding potion only the Alchemist knows
how to make. Marcus was looking for him when he went
missing. And I have no idea where he could possibly be.
So you will need to investigate on his whereabouts.
Now before you set out on that quest, I must ask you to
bring me the ingredients so that I may prepare that
potion. I will need a cauldron, 2 white eggs, 1 red egg,
1 green egg, 50 fungi, a bottle of cider, a truly rare
fish, an entrail, 5 daemon bones and a plague beast core.
The shade of the colored eggs does not matter, as long as
they are red and green. Bring them back quickly, so I can
prepare the cure and you can be on your way to find
Marcus.
[Once they have brought back the ingredients, prepare the
potion and give them Moonfire brew]
There you go. Now,
you need to talk with that old beggar Grifty McBegg. He generally
hangs around the Spirituality Valley and sleeps in
whatever abandoned house or cave he stumbles upon.
Crazy old fool he is, but he sees everything. I
know this isnt much for you to go on, but that is
all I know at the moment. Hope it will help you get
under way.
Safe travels to you all
