DIALOGUES
The Oracle
Character profile:
Very little is known of this breathtaking creature. This
woman of incredible beauty seems no older than 24
winters, yet what little is known of her tale has been
told from generation to generation. The legend claims an
ethereal warrior found her on the shores of Reg Volom.
How she landed there was a mystery. No travelers had been
seen in the fortress in days, and no ship had been seen
sailing through Ilshen's Lake. So where did she come
from? Queen Silvani was apparently quite taken with the
child and took her under her wing. She grew up playing
with the fairies and became the keeper of Queen Silvani's
sacred unicorns. As the years went by, she started
displaying incredibly strong magical powers. Not only did
the animals in the forest follow her unspoken commands,
she could read into the heart of men, heal the most
severe injury with a simple stare, and more importantly,
the future, the present and the past had no secrets for
her. Because of this gift of sight, she became known as
the Oracle. She never talked much. She didn't care for
the language of men. She often said: words are a useless
and inaccurate burden. If you open your mind and open
your heart, all the questions you may have will be
answered. One day, she went to Queen Silvani, thanked her
for the kindness she showed her through the years and
bade her goodbye, for the time had now come for her to
follow her fate, which laid elsewhere.
Dialogue
Greetings travellers. You have come a long way, faced
many challenges and fought bravely to have come this far.
You have proven you have the courage, the strength and
the determination that was needed to accomplish the
difficult task that was lain before you. Now the question
is, do you have the mind to reach your goal? The object
you seek is on the altar behind me. Within lies the
answer that will free the maiden from her prison.
Behind me, there are four pentagrams. To each of them, a
symbol has been assigned. I will ask you a riddle. Take
your time to properly think about your answer. Once you
are confident you have the correct answer, step on the
pentagram which symbol corresponds to your answer. If you
answered correctly, you will be taken to the golden chest
and seconds away from obtaining what you came here for.
If your answer is wrong, you will be expelled from this
fortress. If you're still intent on finding out the
answer to your question, you will have to battle your way
back up here.
Before we proceed, this chest requires a special key to
open it. Do you have it? [if yes, take the key from them.
If no say: Very well, you will need to answer a 1st
riddle then. Should you successfully answer this one,
then you will be allowed to attemp pentagram riddle]. Are
you ready?
Discretion sits, held far
aloft
A knightly strength, and a cowards loss.
Melodious songs, by wispy bards,
Speak of a heros deeds, his rise and fall. |
[If they don't have the key, ask them the key riddle. If
they give the wrong answer, use the context menu on each
of the chars to eject them fom the house. If they
answered correctly, tell them: "Very well, I shall
unlock the chest for you, should you properly answer this
next riddle". Ask them the pentagram riddle. If the
answer is correct, they will be teleported to the chest.
If they chose the wrong pentagram, use the context menu
again to eject them. ]
Congratulations,
Travellers. You may read the word of power you were
seeking. Your quest is nearly at an end. Go back to the
Maiden, and wake her from her restless sleep. Few perils
await you now. But be swift. Time is of the essence.
Goodbye, and safe journey
