Windjammer's Lighthouse
If you're looking to stray from the traditional house types, here is a very nice design for the bachelor seafearer. The Admiral Ruffie Windjammer aka Commodore Vic Twenty designed this house using a 9x14 plot (upgraded from a former log cabin spot) on Fire Island, the smallest possible 3-story plot size. This is what the full house looks like. As pretty as it may look, it is quite hard to design, especially considering the complexity of round roofs (mainly because there are no roud corner floor tiles. So you need to get creative to hide the flaws.

This is the the ground floor. With storage aread, cells, work area, etc. If you notice, the door leading to the work area is actually a hidden door wall tile. Good way to fool intruders. I love the way he decorate this floor and made maximum use of the space even with the stairs leading up to the 2nd floor. If you wonder why the cells in the lighthouse? From the lips of Ruffie himself: "My lighthouse is in Felucca. The seas of Felucca are not for the timid, not for the unwary, and not for the unseasoned seafarer. So what's the story with the skeleton in the cell? You'll just have to wait until barkeeps are fixed (titles of barkeeps in particular) so that I can place the one I need there to tell the tale of that skeleton and what he did to deserve that fate...har har har!"

The second floor has a very nice deck to relax on sipping an ice tea by a sunny sunday afternoon. Inside the tower of the lighthouse, level 2 and 3 offer cozy little library and boudoirs when you need to work in peace. To spare as much room as possible, each level of the tower can be accesses using teleporters.
