The Champion
Rikktor appears as a orange hued ancient wyrm, though he is much faster and a great deal more powerful than one. He is decently tough to take down, possessing a fair number of hit points, rather impressive movement speed, a mean physical attack and a potentially devastating special attack. Caution should be exercised when facing him at all times.
Special Attacks/Tactics
Rikktor has only one special attack, but the nature of the attack is such that it's about all he needs. Its an area of effect EQ attack, and when he lets it off it can one-hit kill those in weak armor and do potentially fatal damage to even heavily armored opponents. The best tactic to counter this, if you're a mage, is run off screen and cast your spell, run back, target, run back off. Keep repeating that process to avoid the attack as much as possible. You can still get unlucky and run right into it, but chances are you'll be able to avoid it that way.
Rikktor isn't a spell caster, so aside from the EQ attack, all he has is his physical hit. Try to avoid that at all costs. It can devastate those in any type of armor. Be it weak or strong.
Tactics to Defeat
Group tactics to defeat Rikktor are the same as defeating most champs. Tamers, send in your pets. Most of the time Rikktor will be moving around so your vet wont be very useful, but once in a while he will stop and concentrate on a single pet or dexer, if he stops, I DO NOT recommend moving in to try and vet your pets. The aforementioned EQ attack can kill you quite quickly, so hang back and heal from a safe distance. Mages run a little off screen and prep your mind blasts. Bards, if you're legendary, provoke left over spawn onto Rikktor and/or keep any remaining spawn at bay and attack with mind blasts as your able. Dexers, toss on a Dragon, Reptile or Snake slayer and charge in. As always, the protector should be standing back, notably out of Rikktor's EQ range, and be ready to heal and rezz those who need it.
The Spawn Itself
Rikktor's spawn is one of the toughest to defeat if you don't know what you're doing. First level is a simple affair. Snakes and Lizardmen. EQ and EVs will send it packing quickly. Second level consists of Lava Lizards and Ophidian Warriors and is also fairly easy except if you have weak fire resist. Again, EV and EQ, with a sprinkling of MBs to finish off loners and those clinging to life by a tiny spec of blue. Bards should start provoking as much as they can now. Be careful at this point as Lava Lizards have a fireball attack that, while not doing a huge amount of damage, can still hurt if your armor is weak. Third level gets downright nasty. Ophidian Zealots and Drake will be all over the place. The drakes are easy to dispatch. Dexers and EVs will make minced meat out of them. Tamers need to team up with bards. Bards focus your provoke efforts on the Ophidian Zealots and Shamans because they will do a number on your entire party. They move fast and are vicious spellcasters. Tamers take out the provoked Zealots. Level 4 requires the most team work as it will spawn Dragons and Ophidian Knight-Errands. The Dragons will automatically dispel EVs. You therefore need the bards to keep them provoked while tamers sic their pets on them. Mages need to lay EVs on the Ophidian Knights while the dexers tear through them with slayer weapons. Becareful though of the DP from the Knights.
In all cases, but especially for level 3 and 4, you should dispatch someone with high resist (both armor and magic resist) to lure spawn to a bard that will area peace while all mages mass EQ. Have the tamers and dexers finish off the redlined spawn. Rinse and repeat.
